The Trakya Development Agency was established by the decision of the Council of Ministers in 2009. The agency operates as a non-profit organization in the region including Edirne, Kırklareli ve Tekirdağ provinces. With its headquarters in Tekirdağ, the Agency has Investment Support Offices in all three provinces.

The Agency is responsible for:

• Cooperation between public sector, private sector and non-governmental organizations
• Setting plans for the development of the region
• Encouraging investment in the region by promoting business and investment possibilities at national and international levels
• Support and consultation for investors by providing all kinds of technical support
• Market research on the prominent sectors of the region and writing relevant reports
• Improving the capacity of planning and project development
• Providing financial support to private and public organizations through call for proposals
• Monitoring, evaluation and reporting of supported projects and activities
• Cooperation with national/international institutions and developing common projects
